Create a Space: Work Nook

What do you do when you realize you own entirely too many pillows for your bed and couch? Why, you create a nook in your dining room area, of course! Had some redecorating fun yesterday and also created a new, functional workspace I now plan to take full advantage of.

And when life is just too much, well, this nook also functions as a pretty great place to curl up and smush your face in pillows.

Wanderlust: Nashville

Things I highly recommend if you find yourself in Nashville with any time on your hands: coffee at Barista Parlor and an Olive & Sinclair fancy chocolate bar.  Now clearly no Nashville trip is complete without a “Nashville” shooting location pit stop. I chose Deacon’s house but stopped short of going to sit on the inviting looking porch swing considering it would, you know, maybe be considered trespassing. If you haven’t had the local Nashville delicacy, hot chicken, get your mouth ready, make sure you have PLENTY of water and go for mild. Trust me, go for mild. Have a fancy cocktail at the cozy Patterson House and don’t miss brunch at the adorable Sky Blue Cafe. But really guys, the chocolate bar.

Valentine’s Day: Treat Yourself!

valentinesThis Valentine’s Day, I think we should all take a page from the Parks and Rec handbook and treat ourselves to a little gift. Sure, having a Valentine to surprise you with jewelry is really fun. But isn’t being able to treat yourself even better? Plus, you’re guaranteed to end up with a gift you really like instead of a giant red box of chocolates. (Sorry, guys. We know you try.) I tend to like Valentine’s surprises which don’t scream “Valentine’s Themed!” and these clustered hearts sterling silver stud earrings from FreshTrends are a pretty nod to the theme without being too over the top. (Psst…guys, are you paying attention?) Above are more of my picks for rewarding yourself a little this February 14th!

1. Bauble Bar Maharaja Ice Studs – $36.00

2. Sheinside Red Long Sleeve Cable Knit Dipped Hem Sweater – $32.79

3. Anthropologie Tallulah Crochet Booties – $118.00

2014 Beginnings

Here’s what the beginning of my 2014 looks like. Black shoes, tea, and a whole lot of snow. I’m looking forward to bundling up in some cute and cozy sweaters for the next few months and to new adventures ahead! I hope wherever you are you’re warm and have some hot tea. My motto in life is pretty much when in doubt, have a good cup of tea.

Happy New Year!
